Fida Mohammed Alhammadi is Head of Research and Building Systems Section, Building Department at Dubai Municipality.

Fida holds a Bachelor degree in Civil and Enviromental  Engineering, from the United Arab Emirates University, 2013; she has a Masters degree in Engineering Managment from University of Sharjah.

Fida is certified as LEED GREEN ASSOCIATE, Certified Concrete Professional Middle East (CCPfME) , NRMCA CFT, NRMCA CFME, and BREEM ASSOCIATE. Fida is also an aproved Trainer From Local and Intenational entities.

Hassan Younes

Director, Griffin Consultants

Hassan is an ASHRAE Distinguished Lecturer, a certified trainer by the Association of Energy Engineers for the CEM course, an appointed Consultant for the ASHRAE 62.1 Standard and the recipient of the prestigious Energy Professional of the Year 2015 for the Middle East region by the AEE in Orlando, Florida.

He also facilitates the Building Retrofit program in Dubai organized by the Emirates Green Building Council in collaboration with Masdar and the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy.

Hassan is on the Boards of Governors of the local and regional chapters of ASHRAE and CIBSE, the internationally-adopted standardizing authorities based in the USA and UK respectively. In those capacities, Hassan works to promote the advancement and improvement of the regional construction industry by collaborating with industry professionals, academia, and governmental entities. He is currently the Chairman of the Industry Advisory Panel of the Herriot Watt Architectural and Engineering Program.

With extensive experience in engineering systems design, analysis and consulting and a passionate objective of raising the industry and sustainability standards in the region, Younes entered a partnership to establish Griffin Consultants where he is responsible for all technical and developmental aspects of the firm. Throughout his career, he was involved in the design of multiple high-end developments including retail, residential, commercial, and hospitality projects some of which are iconic in the Emirate of Dubai like The Beach (JBR) and City Walk. Hassan led and completed multiple energy audits with private and governmental entities and provided consultancy on various governmental energy efficiency programs.

Bachir Rajji

Area Director Engineering & Design – Middle East & Sub Saharan Africa, The Rezidor Hotel Group

In his current role, Bachir is responsible for all engineering and design activities related to both operational hotels and new projects. He is respected for his consistent technical abilities as well as his innovative approach to cost saving initiatives and his vast industry knowledge.

Bachir holds an MBA and a Bachelors Degree in Engineering from Notre Dame University and has a solid history of hands-on experience as an engineer.

He has spent much of his career in the hospitality industry working with international hotel groups across the Middle East and Africa having started as an engineering coordinator before working his way up to senior level roles including operations manager with the opening team for EMCOR Qatar office in Doha.

He was previously with Rotana Hotels where he first joined them as director of projects operation in the corporate office. He quickly moved into the role of area director of engineering, where he was responsible for new hotel projects driving project schedules to meet deadlines in accordance with company strategic expansion plans.

Bachir is a competent communicator who is able to motivate his team and provide the support they need. He is a first-class strategist who prefers to empower the people he works with in order to deliver projects on budget and on time. 

John Shamon

Chief Technical Services Officer, Kerzner International Management

John Shamon is the Chief Technical Services Officer at Kezner International Management. His role is reporting directly to the CEO responsible for enforcing design and development standards for Atlantis projects as well as the management of development and projects from the pre-design stage through to the end of the soft opening.  

Prior to joining the Kerzner team John has previously worked in Hong Kong as Senior Vice President Design and Project Services at the Rosewood Hotel Group, as Group Director Technical Services at Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group in Hong Kong, and Vice President Technical Services Asia Pacific at Hyatt International.

In addition to many years hospitality management experience John is a BA Graduate of Boston College and an Intensive MBA summer programme graduate Kellogg School, Northwestern University. He is also a Visiting lecturer, HK Poly and HK Chinese University.

Iftikhar Hamdani

General Manager, Ramada Hotel & Suites Ajman & Ramada Beach Hotel Ajman

Iftikhar Hamdani is currently working as Cluster General Manager to lead three Wyndham Hotels in Ajman.  Hamdani is also currently engaged with his hotel group expansion and working as VP Development and Acquisition of R Hotels.  Hamdani carries 22 years hospitality experience in different hospitality brands in different positions.

He has revolutionised the hospitality industry over the years with his commitment to carry projects on environment, community and charity work.  Known as the initiator of green programmes in the emirate of Ajman, he has definitely made his mark to engage hoteliers in CSR over the past couple of years.  He is known for his notable ground-breaking environment initiatives like launching Zero Landfill Project in 2012 – a waste management system of the property and Urban Farming in his hotel.

With the leadership and hard work in spearheading the various charity projects, green initiatives and empowerment of team, Iftikhar Hamdani was recognized as the “Brand Ambassador of Wyndham Hotel Group in year 2012” which signifies Wyndham Hotel Group’s appreciation of all the efforts he did for the environment and society.  Hamdani has also been recognized as a “Highly Commended CSR Champion 2013” by the Hotelier Middle East.  Hamdani received the “Alleem Sustainable Development Excellence Awards 2014” a recognition for his sustainable initiatives towards the environment. Two consecutive years, Hamdani has been bagged the Hospitality Excellence Award - CSR Champion of the Year 2015” and “General Manager of the Year 2016” by the  Recently, Hamdani received the “Wyndham Hotel Group EMEA President’s Award for CSR 2016”.

Bilal Maarouf

Senior Technical Engineer, Emirates Green Building Council (EGBC)

Bilal is currently the Senior Technical Engineer at Emirates Green Building Council, leading multiple research projects and training programs. He is a Mechanical Engineer specialized in resources efficiency and sustainability in buildings and cities. Bilal is an advocate of urban sustainability and contributes to the enhancement of knowledge capacities in the industry and academia. He has worked on numerous green buildings and communities certification projects complying with local, regional and international codes.

Over the course of his career, Bilal has delivered bespoke research to various clients on advanced topics such as Real Estate and Existing Buildings Sustainability, Urban Energy Systems, Smart Cities, Integrated Energy Solutions, and others. His experience involved complex and multidisciplinary projects comprising of teams spread across different geographies.

Bilal holds a Master’s Degree in Energy with Distinction from Heriot Watt University and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the American University of Sharjah. He is a LEED AP O+M, Estidama PQP, and Autodesk BPAC.

Holley Chant

Executive Director, Corporate Sustainability, KEO International Consultants

Holley Chant, LEED AP, GSAS CGP is the Executive Director of Corporate Sustainability and Commissioning at KEO International Consultants, a 2,500-person organization ranked in ENR’s Top 20 International Project Management Firms and BD World’s Top 100 Architecture firms. She has built the firm’s sustainability business from the ground up, driving projects that meet LEED, Estidama, CEEQUAL and GSAS sustainability standards for both public and private sector clients across the GCC.

Prior to KEO, as Estidama Planning Manager at the Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council, Holley played an instrumental role in launching the GCC’s 1st mandatory sustainability compliance initiative. She created numerous educational series on the integrative design process for property developers, government authorities, and other high profile individuals in the fundamentals of sustainable building design.

Under her leadership, KEO Sustainability won the “QGBC Green Service Provider, Building Consultant” Award 2016 in Qatar. Holley is a recipient of the Middle East Consultant Leader of the Year Award in 2016 and the Middle East Architecture Awards Principal of the Year Award (2012). She has served as the sustainability judge in the Dubai Cityscape Global Awards (2014-2016), The Middle East Hotel Awards (2015) as well as the Middle East Architecture Awards (2016 and 2014).  She has spoken at numerous professional conferences internationally and lectured at educational institutions including Harvard University and the Masdar Institute for Science and Technology.

Mohamed Soussan

Group General Manager, Ayla Hotel & Resorts

If you're a hotelier, you've likely heard of Mohamed Soussan. His list of credentials is lengthy, and if some really wanted to, it could go on and on and on about his accomplishments.

Not to wonder this successful and highly awarded Group General Manager came from totally non-hotelier background. He was born in Saaida, South-Lebanon, which is very much traditional, social and friendly area. People in this part of the region are more like to run their family businesses within the town, but as it is said, Passion has no limits; Soussan had dreamt to be a successful Hotelier. And just after his higher studies he moved to the Sydney - Australia to fulfil his dream. Enrolled himself in Business Management field and earn his diploma with flying colour.

After practising a while he moved to the United Arab Emirates – which is famous as a country where dreams can come true, so as for him.

He started his career from Lakeside Hotel, Canberra Australia and from there he moved to Capital Royal Hotel, Southern Pacific Hotel and many others and after that not to mention every well-known hotel chain such as; Sheraton, Intercontinental, Rotan, etc. has his golden era of loyalty and hardworking marked in their books.

As he already nailed down his name in the field of Hospitality but it shined highly when he joined a Local Company Nayel & Bin Harmal Investment Company, which is very famous in Al-Ain in the construction field with various number of sister companies under it. But the biggest challenge which Soussan accepted is to open their First Hotel, and undoubtedly as courageous he is, as higher the results are, started from 2011 till to-date, he successfully managed to open three Hotels with the same band and the great applause for the impact of this brand among all the international branded chained hotels.

Being in the industry for more than 29 years, he is founded in a good position to share his knowledge and experience with all colleagues in the organization by conducting the various Trainings & Development Programs by himself in order to enhance their professional skills which has a direct impact on guests’ experiences and to enlighten their vision for their future growth.

Along with all the above, Soussan works stays connected with various Local & International Business Event & Exhibitions. And recently been awarded as the number 37 in the Power 50 General Managers of 2017, in the UAE and Middle East and scoring better ranking continuously from last 3 years.

Sandrine Le Biavant

Director of Consultancy - Sustainability, Energy Management & FM Consulting , Farnek

Sandrine Le Biavant is the Director Consultancy of FARNEK, the Swiss UAE-based renowned Facilities Management company. Lead Auditor for Energy Management Systems and Green Globe consultant, Sandrine is an experienced hotelier and FM consultant also specialized in carbon management processes and GRI sustainability reporting.

Managing a team of engineers and consultants in energy, water, waste, CO2 and social responsibility management advising more than 100 hotels, hotel chains, owning companies and tourist boards in MENA, but also implementing energy management for FARNEK managed facilities (residential, commercial, malls), Sandrine is a passionate consultant. Her specialty is to empower owners and managers of facilities in implementing long term innovative solutions to improve guest experience, operational / managerial performance and profits at the same time.

Adriano Cerocchi

CEO, Over Technologies in Partnership with Job Service Middle East

Adriano Cerocchi had a Ph.D. in computer science from Sapienza University of Rome. He obtained several publications in international journals and during his academic career he was also a key-player of RED Sapienza: a master school of management for technology transfer from university to business. During the school, he decided to leave the university career to found and lead as chief executive officer OVER Spa: one of the main company in Italy for energy management systems that is today leader of the bank sector with a deep penetration also in the hotel market. The company benefits of the participation of full-professors from CIS Sapienza: the national research lab for cyber security that is also a shareholder of OVER. Since 2015 OVER build up a strong cooperation with Job Service to offer to its customers a turn-key solution in Italy, today the two companies are working hard to distribute the OVER EMS in the UAE area.

Manoj Jayachandran

Jorge Borges

Jorge Borges from Lisbon, Portugal. Studied Business Management at ISCTE Business School, University of Lisbon. Jorge has over 10 years of B2B experience working in building material supply and providing technical solutions for construction projects. He started working in aluminium frame solutions for 3 years, followed by 7 years in the window films industry where his focus is on customer’s growth and support in the EMEAR Region.

Jorge’s current role is Advanced Technical Solutions Expert for LLumar Window Films, a brand from Eastman Chemical Company, and he has been working on technical marketing and sales as well as developing technical architectural window film solutions to improve the energy efficiency by enhancing the performance of the existing glazing systems.

Tony Kerr

Tony is an internationally acclaimed expert on bringing cutting-edge technology and hotel laundry together. He has helped hundreds of hotels throughout the world embed an innovative laundry solution that monitors usage, helping to prove energy and water savings, eliminate paper trails and reduce labour costs and downtime.
